Basingstoke boasts a bonanza of talent at variety show for Mayor’s charities
The Basingstoke Variety Show 2011 was held at The Anvil held to raise money for the Mayor's Charity Appeal on behalf of Samaritans (Basingstoke), RadCan (which supports Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital to provide radiation therapy) and the Basingstoke & District Disability Forum.

Cornwall International Male Voice Choral Festival
BASINGSTOKE Male Voice Choir (BMVC) travel to Cornwall today to represent the town at the Cornwall International Male Voice Choral Festival 2011.
Having enjoyed their previous visit two years ago this return visit was a must, especially as Peter Allen, BMVC’s Musical Director, has family ties in the area.
The party of 36 singers plus Peter Allen and the choir’s accompanist Paul Wright – joined by 35 partners and supporters - begin their concert programme on Friday evening in St Andrew’s Church, Redruth.
